W. Ralph Eubanks is author of A Place Like Mississippi and Ever Is a Long Time: A Journey into Mississippi’s Dark Past. He is former director of publishing at the Library of Congress and former editor of the Virginia Quarterly. Currently he is faculty fellow and writer-in-residence at the Center for the Study of Southern Culture at the University of Mississippi.
